"The bitter thing was all the spirit, all the gallantry, was wasted. For even more than inferiors, they accepted and looked forward to being Capped. It was a part of becoming a knight, or of turning from a girl to lady. Thinking of this, I saw how good things could be meaningless in isolation. What value did courage have, without a free and challenging mind to direct it?" (p. 111)
This quoite above, relates to the theme of the book by meaning that being 'Capped can be the worst reason why you can't possess the freedom. The evidence is at the first sentence in the quote, "The bitter thing was all the spirit, all the gallntry, was wasted." Here, 'the bitter thing' is being Capped, and the rest of the sentence says that just because of being Capped, all the sprit and the gallantry was wasted. If you get Capped by the tripod, you will be controlled by it, and you won't be able to feel whether you are free or not because you are not on your own. You are a slave to the tripod, that you can't even do whatever you want to do.

Blog Post 3
( As Ms.Narsiman said, , I read Roemers after I finished my blog post and realized that the answer for #2 was the same)
For this blog post, I need to answer this questions,,,
1. How were the tripods able to control the people?
2. Find evidence (quotations from the novel) to show that even though Will is comfotable living at the castle, He is frustrated that the Comte, Comtesse and Eloise have been capped.
3. Find evidence (quotes) to show how Will feels about being capped.
Answers
1. The Tripods can control people by capping them. After people get capped, they get metal thing on the forhead. This metal thing is the sign that they are capped. And this metal thing is the controller for the Tripods. They can control thier everything.
2. Page 116 First paragraph and Second paragraph "More and more I had come to see the Capped as lacking what seemed to me the essence of humanity, the vital spark of defiance agianst the rulers of the world. ANd I ahd despised them for it-despised even, the for all their kindness to me and thier goodness, the Comte and Comtesse. But not Eloise. I ahd thought her free, like myself. I might have even come to the idea - its beginnings, I think, were in my mind already - That when we set off once more for the White Mountains, there might not be her bare head. I had come to think of her as my friend : perhaps more. But now I knew that she belonged, irretrievably, body and sould, to the Enemy."
3. Page 121, Second paragraph "Was I to abondon my hopes of freedom, surrender the mastery of the mind, for the sake of wearing jeweled leather and having other men touch thier caps to me? The notion was absurd. Whatever privileges I was given I would still be a sheep among sheep."

Zhan-pole
In the end of chapter 4, Will and Henry meets another important character, called Zhan-pole. There are several reasons why Zhan-pole can be very important to Will and Henry. First, he is very smart, so whenever they get in trouble, Zhan-pole might have some ideas how to get out of the trouble.(Page 71, This is not as silly as it sounds becuse there was one thing that stood out about hi: he had quite a tremendous brain. His speking English, for instance: he had found an old book, giving instructions in the laguage, and taught himself).
Also, he is important to Will and Henry because he can invent some other things that might be helpful to himself. I think this is really important because if Zhan-pole has some materials to invent something, he can invent something really helpful to their advenure. (Page 71, Lately, he had been more and more uneasy about the prospect of being Capped, rightly guessing that it would put an end to his inventing things.)

Latest product of Apple - iPad
Steven Jobs, the Chief Executive Office of Apple, invents new product each January. The latest one is called 'i-Pad' and it is almost same as the i-pod touch but it got bigger and got a lot of new skills.
I think this device would not change the educations in the world because it doesn't have any skills that are related to the education. Majority of people would only think the i-Pad is a machine that can have musics, videos, internet and others. Also, if I have it, I would only use it for the simple things because you need to know how to convert the file into the file that can be fit in the i-pad. I think there are some good things and bad things.

How is Will just like you?
After the discussion with the group, I felt like I mastered chapter 1 and 2 of the book, White Mountains. I could have understood more things than when I only read the book, so I think it was really helpful for me to write this blog post easier than it could have been. By the way the task is to answer the question, "How is Will just like you?". If I think about it, there aren't actually many things but still have one.
First, I think Will is good at doing something secretly just like I am. In Korea, when I was having a sleep-over with my friends, me and my friends secreatly left our home to go play at the playground at midnight when my parents were sleeping. In the book, Will left his home to go to the White Mountains just like I did.
Using your skills to be secretly for the bad things are bad thing to do, but if it is a situation like Will, who is about to be capped in few months, it wouldn't be a real problem. Because I would have run away if I was Will too.

Power of the Void
Part 1
The International School of Kuala Lumpur provides an exeptional that challenges each student to this (Silence) attitudes, skills, knowledge and understanding to become a highly successful, spirited, socially reponsible global citizen.
I think that adding a silence between this and attitudes is creating the most tension. I think it is because you are pausing just before you say what kind of things each student challenges. Also, putting the silence after the word 'this' sounds better than any others. I think this is the best answer that I can think of.
Part 2
One way that the composers create tension in the music is by putting rests in the middle of the music.
